Service Description

In this Int/Adv level weekly class, students will practice and learn more advance LD skills. We review the Keys to Lincoln Douglas Debate by Travis Herche and emphasis will be on practice of higher level debate exercises: case writing, delivery, logic, value/criterion theory, philosophy, refutation/rebuttal, and cross examination to name a few. In addition, students will read and research selections from the SEP on various philosophers to gain knowledge of philosophical ideologies related to the scope of the resolution. Advanced research skills will be taught to provide excellent knowledge for use in rounds. Students will be expected to do a minimum of 1-2 hours of homework weekly in the form of reading, writing, and research. Students will debate in and outside of class.
